I went to Costco ( my favorite place) to get some food for our "new diet" (I've had many new diets!) and to get a pizza before we started it. LOL. I was looking for someone to pray for, as I had made up my mind before I entered to the store to be sensitive to who God wanted to bless. As I walked past a woman folding clothes at the front, I felt the leading of the Holy Spirit to pray for her about her back. I felt awkward and didn't want to do it, so I moved on and headed towards the back to get some meat and veggies. I met a worker there named Dustin and he said he played basketball at the local community college. I asked him after some time if he had any pain in his body that is bothering him. He said that he had to ice his hip a lot after practice and doing the regular drills. I asked if I could pray for him and he said that it was fine. NOTE: Most unsaved people will let you pray for them because they have no idea what is going to happen. Most think that I will mumble some words and then all will be over. God has other plans when we as Christians pray in the authority that he gave us.
I told him that while I pray for his healing that he might feel heat or power on his hip. I started to pray for him and commanded that the pain leave his body in the name of Jesus. He said that he started to feel energy (as he put it) on his leg and hip. I said "Great! that is the Holy Spirit touching your body to make you well." I explained to him that Jesus died and rose again to pay for his sins and to make him a child of God. I asked him if he was ready to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and to be washed of his sins. He said that he was not ready yet and needed more time. He said he was almost ready but not quite yet. I was happy but I still wanted him to receive Christ as his Lord and Savior. I got his information to contact him later and to talk with him more.
As I was getting ready to leave the store, I saw that woman again. I had been blessed and was more Godfidant (confident in God) than I was when I entered. NOTE: Praying for the sick kills off your "flesh" and makes you rely totally on God. God is multi-dimensional as he works for the person and works to get you closer to him all at the same time. I find that praying for healing makes the person praying stronger in faith and less susceptible to the carnal mind.
I said "Hi" to the woman and asked her name. She said her name was Denice. She did not look very approachable and I was moving from the momentum that just happened with Dustin back in the meat department. I asked her if she had any back pain and she said she was all "good" and completely healthy. I asked her again, still bold from my last experience, and said, "You mean to tell me that your back never hurts and that you absolutely don't need any healing prayer at all, ever?" She answered, "Ok I do have back pain sometimes." I asked to pray for her and she let me pray. As i was praying for healing for her back, the Holy Spirit rested on her and softened her features as His peace rested on her and blessed her. I said "God bless you" and went on my way to pay for the food.
Blessings to you! I hope this strengthens your faith and that you see that God wants to touch people, even people who aren't quite ready for Him.
