Healing Story #7 - Going to the Fair

We went to the local fair to have a family night and I was excited to pray for the sick/hurt/etc. We got into the fair and went to the HIM booth which is a local ministry center that selects two non-profits a year to sponsor and then sells bumper stickers, hats, and apparel to raise money for the selected non-profits. We thought this would be a great way to bless another ministry! So we bought a hat and Stephannie got a hoodie pull-over. I could tell that the older man and woman behind the counter were Christians so I just plainly asked them if they needed prayer for any pain or physical issues that they had. They replied that they were OK but that their daughter was just diagnosed with crohn's disease. So I took the mother's hand in my hand we prayed and agreed for healing in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. I gave them a card to contact me to see how things develop with their daughter. We left the booth and continued into the fair to see what we could do with the kids. My back had been hurting for several days after I had used the weed whacker at my in-laws house. Carrying around the weight on one side had thrown my lower back out right above the right hip. It was so painful that it made me walk funny as my hip would make the swerve around when I walked instead of my legs swinging freely. When we were in line for a ride I just asked Stephannie to pray for my back because it was hurting so badly. I know what you are thinking. It just seems cheap that you can pray for people you know well and see them healed...but its true. As she began to pray for my lower back, it made a popping movement right where she had her hand. She was a little startled and asked how I did that. Her belief is that we should do it, but the results surprised her faith. I gave her a little look like "How can I control the fine muscles in my lower back and make them pop on command?" LOL! After that pop in my back happened I felt wave after wave of relief coming. It felt so good to have the muscles unwind!! It is hard to describe back pain being relieved as it can be so painful at times. It got better and better as the next couple of minutes passed. As I was being prayed for I thought to myself, "I am a child of God no different than anyone else. I can receive my healing too just as if I was another stranger in the crowd." You know that some people believe that they can't be healed or don't think that they are worthy? Especially if you have been in ministry praying for the sick, you almost start to play along and not really believe that God will touch you. But you must believe that you are able to receive from God just like everyone else. I had these thoughts and I received my blessing of my back being relieved from pain.

Stephannie also had a headache and was ready to go. After receiving my healing I prayed for her and her headache got much much better! We were able to stay almost until dark as we received a second wind from God! There is so much here available for us from Jesus as he won the victory on the cross. 1 John 3:8 says "The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work." Jesus does everything he does to destroy the devil's work, that includes fixing our bodies as a result of the fall in the Garden of Eden.

I pray this testimony blesses you!

Healing Story # 6 - Pins and Screws in His Arm

In this event, I was at the park with my sons one day in between running errands.  The park was full of little kids running around and having fun.  There seemed to be two different adults watching them but they were definitely not their parents.  I finally ran into one of the people watching the kids, and he said that it was a YMCA trip to the park and that he had been working with the kids for over 4 years.  We were just having small talk and then randomly he says "My arm was broken 5 years ago and they had to put pins and screws in my arm.  I want them out but I don't have any money to pay for them to be removed."  I asked if it hurt all the time and he said it didn't.  He then had to walk away and help a kid who got himself into a difficult situation on the monkey bars.  After he came back to where I was standing, he said that now his arm hurt.  The kid banged into his arm and set it off where the pain would reverberate throughout his arm for several minutes before it died down.  I asked him if I could pray for the pain to go away as I was a Christian.  He said the pain was at a 5 out of 10 pain level.  I prayed quickly in the name of Jesus that the pain had to leave.  He said it immediately felt better but some pain was still there.  I asked him to pray again, and he started to say something to indicate it was OK, but I prayed for his arm anyways.  He said all the pain left his arm and that it was back to normal.  After that he opened up to me about his life, marriage aspirations, goals, and what God had in store for him.  He became open to Godly counsel about how to find a wife who puts Jesus first and how to make sure that Jesus is at the center of everything he does.  After that the bus came and we said goodbye.  God blessed this man with his physical pain along with his spiritual and emotional well being.  God is good, all the time!
